Wind-River 2010
The source of the Wind River is located in the Wernecke Mountains. After about 100 km the Wind leaves the mountains and cuts through the Peel River Plateau. After another 100 km, he reaches the Peel River, one of the mightiest rivers in the Yukon. From here you reach Fort Mc Pherson (Teetl'it Zheh) after an additional 320 km or one can be picked up by a floatplane just after the confluence with the Snake River.
Starting point for our canoe trip is the McClusky Lake, which we reach by floatplane from Mayo. Our final destination is Taco Bar, just after the confluence of the Snake and Peel River, from here we will be picked up by float plane again and flown back to Mayo
